If you went to Coney Island with a Super 8 and the song A Musician and a Filmmaker from Panda Bear in your head….it would probably look like this. Australian filmmaker Sherwin Akbarzadeh’s surrealistic short film was chosen by Spike Lee himself as the winner in the “Mini Masterpiece” category at the Babelgum Online Film Festival (http://www.bablegum.com/online-film-festival).
Directed by Gang Gang Dance’s Brian Degraw. from the album “Person Pitch” on Paw Tracks Records. It’s new…I guess. Well the song isn’t but the video is. Typical psychedelic Panda Bear.
This is a promo video for Delphic’s debut single, “Counterpoint“, which will be released Monday 13th April 2009 on 12″ and download through R&S. It seems very…err….Euro. Or like a Calvin Klein commercial turned into a movie.
Delphic – Counterpoint (Live in Amsterdam)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Zero
Okay I get it Karen O; you are a badass. What I do like about this video is that it represents the record well. They have evolved past a genre that is kind of milked dry of creative energy and have let loose a bit. It’s time to be positive and dance like a freak. Or whatever. Oh and here’s YYY’s remixed version of Zero from the every so awesome MSTRKRFT. Enjoy.
No, you’re not watching an episode of Robot Chicken; this is the new video from straight-up rock band Middle Distance Runner. Their latest record, The Unbeliever, is available now digitally and in stores. Catch them on tour with Eulogies in a town near you.
Middle Distance Runner – The Unbeliever
The Safes – The Sky Is Falling
Was that last video not weird enough for you? Well I give you The Safes’ bizarro video for The Sky Is Falling off their latest Sight of All Light EP.
I got kind of skeptical when other music blogs and music websites claimed that Animal Collective‘s new album, Merriweather Post Pavilion, could possibly be the album of the year. I mean, c’mon, a 9.6 from Pitchfork and barely a single negative review? It’s a knee-jerk reaction for me to go against the grain when something is universally praised. There must be something wrong with this record right? Well after holding out for a few weeks, I gave in and had myself a proper listen. After listening to it over 5 times and twice in my car, I can safely say that this a masterpiece. On the scale of My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless. Seriously. It’s that good. The album will be released on CD and double LP with a limited edition poster on the 20th of January 2009 on Domino Records.
Panda Bear (Noah Lennox) was able to take some time off from chilling with his girls (reference to the song My Girls, which alone is worth purchasing this album) to answer the Kuestionnaire and give a sweet public apology to the country of Brazil.

13. Any embarrassing moments on stage you’d like to share?
we played in brazil a month or so ago and there was lots of rushing and miscommunication during sound check but thats not so out of the ordinary really especially for us at festivals. then the digital mixing desk erased all of our settings just before we went on stage and our sound guy chris came running back. poor chris i felt bad for him. then we started and daves monitor fed back like crazy right from the start so we stopped and looked over at the monitor lady but she wasnt looking at us for a while. then all the sound stopped and this strange rock song came on super loud over the house pa and we all were on stage stunned and ashamed and i think i just kind of shrugged. id say there were a couple thousand people there. then the rock song stopped and we just went into the second song. im sorry sao paulo that we sucked so bad and i hope we come back and play well soon. top 3 worst shows ever for me without a doubt.
