Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux’s French musical collective Nouvelle Vague will be playing The Grand Ballroom at the Regency Center on February 7th. Riding on the release of their 3rd album, Nouvelle Vague 3, Nouvelle Vague will bring more than just Bossa Nova covers of Punk and New Wave classics. The band’s newest release explores the spirit of American Country music and Bluegrass while still reinterpreting those amazing songs from that era.

From the looks of things, the Bay will be a little slow in regards to shows. That doesn’t mean there isn’t anything going on, just not as much as usual.
First off, tonight A Camp plays The Independent and the Haight Street Fair features We Be the Echo at the Stanyan Stage.
Monday will have British indie rocks Art Brut at the San Francisco Amoeba Records at 6pm and at The Independent with LoveLikeFire at 8pm.
Tuesday features lo-fi rocker That Ghost at The Knockout. Hey I told you it was a slow week.
Anyway, post-punk heroes Shellac rocks The Great American Music Hall both Wednesday and Thursday. Everyone’s favorite indie sweetheart Ben Kweller hits up Slim’s on Wednesday as well as Oakland songbird and solo uke-slinger Tippy Canoe at the Hemlock Tavern.
Thursday brings the NINJATUNE Party with Daedelus & Ghislain Poirer at Mighty and Viva Voce with Cut Off Your Hands at the Bottom of the Hill. Also, The Phoenix in Petaluma will be hosting ONELOVEFORCHI, a benefit for bassist Chi Cheng of The Deftones, who fell into a coma after a vicious car accident a few months ago. All door proceeds will go to www.oneloveforchi.com to help Chi & Cheng Family with medical bills. Live music from post-hardcore legends Will Haven as well as Snipers, Un-ID, An Archaic Smile and Simoom.
Friday has PJ Harvey & John Parish making sweet tunes at The Warfield and Nouvelle Vague drops by the Grand Regency Ballroom.
Saturday wraps up the week with Les Claypool at The Warfield, White Rabbits promoting their ever-so-awesome new album “It’s Frightening” at The Independent, and award winning Nigerian musician Femi Kuti at The Fillmore.
