National Skyline is basically an atmospheric rock band formed in late 1996 by Jeff Dimpsey of Hum with ex-Castor vocalist/guitarist Jeff Garber. Fans of both bands should be extremely excited about this band’s latest full length album, Bliss & Death, which is a spacey trip that transcends the boundaries of conventional rock music. The unfortunate thing about this record is that it might go unnoticed and brushed aside as another post-rock record made by ex-post rock players. But the soundscapes that each song builds are very dream-like and probably one of the best straight-up rock records I have heard this year. This is not an album that should be overlooked.
