Yes We Did!

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Here he comes, your next president of the United States of America; Barack Obama. However, don’t for a minute think that this is the end. We have chosen a worthy leader, though it’s up to us to decide if we are willing to commit our time and attention to his leadership. I hope you are prepared for what’s to come…

After sifting through Digg for a bit, I found a heartwarming story about a guy who did not vote for Obama. Read why here.

So anyway, here’s a few songs I’ve compiled to commemorate this historic day. Nothing special or “hope” specific. Just a few random selections. Hope you enjoy.

  Eilliott Smith – High Times

Jim Yoshi Pile Up – Silver Sparkler

My Brightest Diamond – Inside A Boy

  Hayden – Where and When

Bright Eyes – No One Could Riot For Less

I kind of laugh to myself when people ask me, “Hey what are you doing this Columbus Day weekend?” When I say I have to work, they usually give me that look like I just dented my car. “Oooo, bummer dude.” It’s no big deal when it comes down to it. Weekends lose their meaning when you have a schedule like mine. I’m sure I’m not the only one. I’m not even sure how to ‘observe’ Columbus Day. Well there’s always Indigenous Peoples Day. Hooray oppression!

 Sufjan Stevens – Holland

Mates of State – My Only Offer

Department of Eagles – No One Does It Like You

 Hayden – Where and When

 Maritime – Guns of Navarone

 Women – Black Rice

The Decemberists – Here I Dreamt I Was An Architect

Damien Jurado – Gillian was a Horse

Eluvium – Under The Water It Glowed

 Annuals – Bleary Eyed

 Tiger Lou – The Loyal

Codeseven – All The Best Dreams
