Free Amazing Baby Tickets! Supreme Being!

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Do you know Dave Sardy? I know him as the ex-lead vocalist of heavy metal kings Barkmarket, but you may know him as grand wizard producer who is a winner of 3 Grammy Awards (for OK GO, Wolfmother and Marilyn Manson) and Brit Awards for Oasis, Marilyn Manson and Wolfmother. Also producing amazing records by Far, Autolux, LCD Soundsystem, and most recently Tegan and Sara’s sixth studio album. Well he’s taken the reins on Amazing Baby’s Supreme Being and rerecorded the song to create this colorful piece of psychedelia that far surpasses the original.

Market of Bark

Dave Sardy isn’t known for much else than his producing work with bands like LCD Soundsystem, Soulwax, Wolfmother, Cold War Kids, and recently the new Oasis album. However in the mid-90s, he fronted the grunge-post hardcore group Barkmarket. They formed in 1987 and disbanded in 1997 after two EPs and five full length records. Their most notable album is the genre mish-mashed rock album, L.Ron. The album starts like a drunken Tom Waits song and quickly kicks off like a freight train crashing down a mountain. But it doesn’t end there. L.Ron is a lost masterpiece that should be marveled by it’s production and twisted lyrics as well as it’s weaving of country, grunge, punk, and balls-out rock. Have a listen and try to find an official copy on amazon or something. You won’t regret it.
