post-punk electronic balladeers?

What are “post-punk electronic balladeers”? Air? Boards of Canada? Those would be my first guesses. But the genre “post-punk electronic balladeer” is a self proclaimed type of music that the UK duo Cult With No Name coined. Sounding very similar to the latter two bands I mentioned, Erik Stein (lead vocals/rhythm piano) and Jon Boux (lead piano/rhythm vocals) have more of a Leonard Cohen croon mixed with that haunting and lonesome electro-ballad sound. Their latest record, Careful What You Wish For is more of that dark melodic feel with unique and captivating lyrics that justify the label, “post-punk electronic balladeers”.
