Band of Skulls – I Know What I Am

Band of Skulls – I Know What I Am

Here’s Band of Skulls’ new video for the blue rock swinger “I Know What I Am.” It sounds like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club debuted a female singer and looks like a good representation of their live performance.

Regina Specktor – Eet

Regina Spektor’s new album ‘Far’ hits stores June 23rd and people are already going bazzerk about it. Sweet. fun and heart wrenching all at the same time; no one does it better.

Also, the below track (in my opinion) is about hope and not about God himself. So stop emailing me this song knowing I’m an atheist and a Regina Speckter fan. Thanks!

Empire of the Sun – Standing on the Shore

Are there any music videos out there more epic than an Empire of the Sun video? No, there’s not.

Chairlift – Bruises

Indie popsters Chairlift release their own video (as opposed to the iPod commercial) for the last year’s cutest song, “Bruises.”

MGMT – Kids

Good God oh mighty! That poor child! Well with tons of monsters that look like they’re from Jim Henson’s hell and special guest Joanna Newsom, this video just unloads the awesome.

Kuestionnaire: Bear Hands

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Bear HandsGolden EP has been floating around the Brooklyn-indie scene for over a year now, so you might have already heard their unique brand of post-punk fuzz rock by now. If you haven’t, you’re missing out. The Golden EP is a bold and expansive sonic statement that looks set to solidify Bear Hands‘ position as one of the most important acts of 2009 and beyond. With a overseas tour with Passion Pit and a 7″ single on the way, the buzz of Bear Hands may be getting louder over the next few months.

Bassist Val Loper sat down to do this week’s Kuestionnaire.

Kata Rokkar News And That New Ipod Song

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Roar! Kata Rokkar news! Okay…so this September is jam packed with upcoming shows and little updates here and there.

XChannel and Totally Fuzzy have recently been so kind as to add us to their blog roll. The sites are literally oversized mp3 blog databases. Feel free to browse through their library of unique mp3 blogs and discover some interesting tunes.

Yesterday I created a Facebook Page to promote the site and let like-minded people discuss whatever they feel like. So go ahead and become a fan. You will instantly become cooler, seriously.

This weekend I will be attending Day One of the Treasure Island Music Festival which includes Justice, TV on the Radio, Foals, Amon Tobin, Aesop Rock, CSS, and many others. More on that tomorrow…

On the 25th I’ll be at the Woven record release show at the Rockit Room in San Francisco. The interview with lead vocalist Ory Hodis will be up sometime next week.

My entire collection of photos from the Outside Lands Music Festival is right here.

Well the Ipod commercials have yet again made some random indie band hit mainstream status once again. This time around it’s Chairlift. This electro-folk trio hails from (obviously) Boulder, Colorado and is making me even more excited for snowboard season. I digress; if you’re into a gothic version of MGMT or a modern day Siouxsie & the Banshees, look no further. This act will satisfy your chillaxing needs.

Oh yeah and the new Ipods don’t look too shabby either.
