It’s our second Snob Theater and yet again an epic line-up of Bay Area bands and comedians. In case you’re not familiar with Snob Theater. Snob Theater is a show that features the best in the Bay Area’s indie rock bands and stand-up comedians. The small 50+ seat theater setting makes for the most intimate of performances and provides a unique and exciting atmosphere. Snob Theater is an event that showcases the comfort of the performers as they take chances in a stripped-down setting.
Our musical guests this month include Michael Zapruder and Grand Lake. Michael hasn’t played an official show since last year and is ready to remind people of 2008’s brilliant album, Dragon Chinese Cocktail Horoscope. The album went on to win Best-Folk/Singer-songwriter album at the Independent Music Awards in 2009. We might even get to hear some new material.
Grand Lake is on a one way ticket to Awesome-town with their opening slot for OK GO at the Fillmore on the 26th of May and much buzz about their upcoming release on Hippie Are Dead Records. They will also be releasing their debut album Blood Sea Dream this month which includes the incredibly catchy Louise (I Live In A Fantasy). The three-piece featuring former Port O’Brien members will undoubtedly be a charismatic and entertaining addition to Snob Theater.
Our stand-up comedians include Bill Coladonato, Kelly McCarron, Kevin Munroe, and Brendan Lynch. Kevin Munroe has performed at Noise Pop Festival and Brendan Lynch has performed with the likes of Moshe Kasher, Matt Braunger, and Kyle Kinane.
So come out, invite friends, and spread the word. It’s going to be a good night.
